We are seeking a talented programmer with extensive RoR for full time position in Cambridge MA. Join a great team and help build a collegial network/resource center for the National Science Foundation.

TERC, a research and development company in Cambridge MA is seeking a senior-level or mid-level Web Applications Specialist for the next phase of development for two community networks, IGERT.org and MSPnet.org both funded by the National Science Foundation.
This full-time position offers a friendly and casual environment, a talented team, and cutting edge technical challenges related to building social platforms for leaders in education.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience creating complex sites supporting collegial or social networks, with up-to-date knowledge of web application technologies, design patterns, and development/testing processes.
• Experience with requirements gathering, prototyping, and usability testing.
• Serious experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Experienced with HTML, CSS, Javascript and JS frameworks (ex. Prototype, JQuery) for DHTML/AJAX
• Experience with SQL and SQL database servers.
• Experience using source control tools (ex. subversion).
• Experience with building, deploying, and maintaining a Rails-based web applications in a Linux environment. (http, application and database servers)
• BA/BS in Computer Science (preferred). The following are pluses, but not requirements:
• Experience with other high-level web application frameworks, in particular Cold Fusion.
• Experience with cross-browser implementation and accessibility issues.
• Experience with administration of secondary web services (full text indexing/searching, streaming media, A/V/chat messaging).

All levels are encouraged to apply; compensation and responsibilities are based on candidates' qualifications and level of experience. Must be willing to work on-site in Cambridge, MA.
