UI Web Developer/Designer

Overview:


An early stage startup is looking for an experienced UI Web designer/developer with Ruby on Rails experience to work out of our Campbell office. If you would like to be part of a talented team and an exciting new venture, this is your opportunity!

Key responsibilities:

Design and code UI HTML, CSS, javascript using SASS, HAML, Blueprint in a Linux environment

Create high quality code and follow industry standard software development practices and processes

Peer review of design and code

Fix bugs reported by users in a proactive and timely manner

Technical documentation on design, code, logic and interfaces

Analyze and triage user comments and feedback

Participate in status meetings and collaborate effectively with team

Provide schedule estimates and maintain credibility by meeting commitments

Required skills:

At least 5-7 years of professional software development experience

1-2 years of RoR experience building websites that have actually been released for public consumption

Experience with ECommerce development and Web UI/UX

Deep knowledge of front-end coding standards, cross-browser solutions, CSS

Knowledge of Linux, Apache, webservices

Solid analytical and design skills to build scalable, efficient and reliable software

Familiarity with bug tracking tools, CM tools, GIT (Github.com), Capistrano

Be able to handle pressure and be flexible to adapt in a dynamic environment

Maintain a positive and can-do attitude

Be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent verbal and written communication
