Scott Chacon, who blogs at http://www.jointhecon..., is coming through to give us a first look at Rails 2.0. He'll give an overview of what's new, what's changed, and what to look out for, as well as share his experiences with writing new apps from scratch, and migrating an existing 1.2 project.
This month, I'll be presenting at the meetup for the first time to talk about building Facebook applications with Rails. I'll give an overview of the Facebook API, and demonstrate how quickly you can get something up and running with Rails. In addition to the mechanics of Facebook apps, I'll be talking about virality on social networks, and Google's emerging OpenSocial API.
Time permitting, we'll have an open forum for discussion towards the end. Feder8 has graciously offered to supply pizza and refreshments. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
