Hey ladies and gents, just realized there was no notice here for tomorrow's meeting...oops! I know a lot of you are on the MESDA list so hopefully we aren't caught completely off-guard.
So ya, there is a planned meeting tomorrow at 6:00 PM at Stackhouse Station in Westbrook. What I am going to cover (yes you get to listen to be blather on some more) is how we can use ruby, not as a focal point or main presence in our applications, but more about how we can leverage it to get our work done that in the end, may not ever actually be in an application.
I want to cover topics including remote services, simple utilitarian functions (think along the lines of glorified shell scripts), and would also like to cover using JRuby as I think a lot of you folks are using Java for a lot stuff still.
Also, if any of you could come up with questions or problem you are encountering with using Ruby on any topic. We can cover these at the end of the meeting, or as soon as I run out of stuff to talk about.
