ShRUG aims to bring together Ruby enthusiasts in the Shenandoah Valley. All are welcome. There will be topics of interest to web developers and designers, programmers of all kinds, students of OO development in high-level languages, and anyone wanting to use Rails to create dateabase-backed MVC web applications. Whether you are an experienced Rubyist or a curious newbie, come to our meeting and share your interests in learning and using Ruby.

Ray will talk about how he uses Dark BASIC and DarkGDK, both gaming resources from The Game Creators to make programming interesting for students learning to program. He will be showing demonstrations of the two systems, which are intimately linked since the DarkGDK is mostly a C++ wrapper around the functions in the Dark BASIC library. Read more

 Because shRUG is cool.

Pretty informative and there is a wide array of people from different backgrounds. Oh yeah I knew I forgot to mention what prototype has to do with Ruby. ...
