Introduction
I work with Java, but I came from Perl. I'm headed for Ruby unless Perl 6 comes out real soon!

One thing I like about this group is the range of backgrounds: we've got people coming to Ruby from lots of different programming cultures, from Microsoft/.NET to PHP to Python. We sort of meet in the middle at Ruby, but it's always fascinating to learn what other people pick up on about Ruby because of where they've been.
